Kimuraya Sohonten 木村屋 at Ginza, Tokyo Kimuraya Sohonten 木村屋 was founded in 1869 by Yasube Kimura. It is Japan’s first bakery after Japan was opened to the West. This is the 1st Kimuraya Sohonten which is located at Ginza. 
Kimuraya Sohonten is famous with its "anpan", a type of bun made with sake yeast. The 1st "anpan" was introduced in 1874 with sweet bean paste inside. Today, there are plenty favours of "anpan" selling in Kimuraya Sohonten. "Anpan" is relatively a very small bun which is size about 7 - 7.5 cm diameter. The price for an "anpan" is 130 yen (~ RM4 / USD 1.20)  Kimuraya Sohonten has more than 27 retails and 1500 employees. They even has a online bread store: http://www.kimuraya-net.jp |
