Photos: Bird Photography using Olympus Zuiko Kit LensI know it sounds a bit stupid for shooting wildlife birds using my Olympus Zuiko kit lens but I really want to give a try after seeing some stunning bird shoots in PhotoMalaysia.com. Yes, I managed to shoot some birds but the photo quality is totally out.
1. Kingfisher
After the shooting session, I really can feel that birding is much much much harder compare to macro photography. The main reason is the powerful eye of the birds and its fast movement. I can only come to closest ~ 15 feet from the birds. Beyond that, the bird will fly away. 2. Blue tailed bee eaters

The birds are relatively very small in the photo due to the poor telephoto capability of my kit lens (ZD 40-150mm). All the photos were shot at 150mm focal length which is equivalent to 300mm with my 2 x focal length multiplier. I choose to handheld the camera to allow myself to move to the closest distance. Image stabilizer in my Olympus E-510 is set to IS1. 3. Unknown ID – Hawk Eagle
